The Department of Statistics and Insurance Science organizes and operates since the academic year 2001-2002 a Postgraduate Studies Programme in “Applied Statistics” (Ministerial Decision B7/300, Government Gazette 44/22-01-2002, amendment Government Gazette 1495/10-10-2006, decision of the Senate of Special Composition 20.04.2010, session 5).

The MSc aims to cover a classical scientific area, such as Statistics, by offering students a wide range of knowledge, combining theory with practice, the laboratory, statistical packages, and the computational part of Statistics.

The minimum duration for the award of the Master’s Degree in Applied Statistics is 3 semesters. The M.Sc. degree requires the successful completion of twelve (12) courses (i.e. completion of 90 credits of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, 30 credits per semester) and the compulsory completion of a Diploma Thesis in the 3rd semester.

Graduates of the Departments of Statistics and Insurance Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics and Financial Sciences, Social Sciences, Business Administration and Management as well as graduates of other related departments of A.E.I. of the domestic territory or corresponding departments of foreign countries as well as graduates of corresponding departments of T.E.I., according to the provisions of Article 5 Paragraph 12c of Law 2916/2001, G.E.K. 114a.
